Community
Michael and Annette Walter are invested in their community. It is not simply because they own and operate their businesses, Stickling’s Bakery here in Peterborough. “Our father Hans looked at several cities but he agreed our business should be rooted in a city, rich in culture, diversity and dedicated to sustainable, healthy living,” says Annette. “Peterborough was a perfect fit for Stickling’s close to 25 years ago, and we’ve never looked back.”
In fact, Michael, Annette and their Bakery continue to evolve and strengthen, as does their involvement in the community. “We feel very fortunate to be living and working in Peterborough,” says Michael. “We work hand in hand with the agencies and networks dedicated to providing support for people in our community who need help the most. It’s the right thing to do.”
For close to 25 years Stickling’s has supported many charities and organizations, including the United Way, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival, Shifting Gears, and Peterborough Green Expo. They give regular donations to the Brock Mission and Food not Bombs and many other noteworthy local organizations:
The Art Gallery of Peterborough
The Peterborough Public Library
Peterborough and Area Chapter of the Celiac Association
The United Way of Peterborough
From time to time we do consider supporting local organizations other than the ones mentioned above. For inquiries please send a brief description of the organization and the cause the donation would support. A decision will be based on current requests for donations.
